Quick Summary
The Skoda Fabia Mk4 is a spacious, practical, and affordable supermini that delivers exceptional value for money. Built on the MQB-A0 platform, it offers a generously proportioned interior with 380 litres of boot space—matching the Volkswagen Golf and exceeding the Ford Focus. The cabin quality rivals anything in its class, with sophisticated plastics and finishes throughout. Legroom is exceptional for both front and rear passengers, and the car maintains Skoda's philosophy of providing a bigger car for a smaller price without compromising on quality, technology, or safety.
The driving experience prioritises comfort and refinement, with impressive bump absorption and quiet operation. Engine options range from 79bhp to 148bhp in standard models, with the new Fabia 130 offering 174bhp and a sportier setup for keener drivers. Fuel economy is competitive across the range, with claimed figures around 50-57mpg depending on engine and transmission choice. Running costs are low, and the car comes well-equipped with modern technology including infotainment systems, driver assistance features, and comprehensive safety equipment. A comprehensive range of accessories enhances practicality further.
Best for: Budget-conscious buyers seeking a spacious and practical family car, those prioritising comfort and refinement, and drivers wanting excellent value without compromise on quality or equipment.
Not ideal for: Buyers seeking thrilling driving dynamics or a manual gearbox option in the Fabia 130, or those requiring a premium badge appeal.

| Skoda Fabia | 4/5 | 4.7/5 | 34.5% | 4.5/5 |

The Verdict
You should buy the Fabia if: You're seeking a spacious and practical family car on a budget, prioritising comfort and refinement, or wanting excellent value without compromise on quality or equipment.
Consider alternatives if: You require thrilling driving dynamics, a manual gearbox option in the Fabia 130, or premium badge appeal.
Competitive Position: The Skoda Fabia Mk4 is a standout choice in the supermini market, offering exceptional space, practicality, and value that rivals struggle to match. Whilst the Seat Ibiza delivers stylish appeal and the Volkswagen Polo offers premium credentials, the Fabia provides more interior room and better value. The Hyundai i20, though competitively priced, lacks the Fabia's refinement and equipment. The Fabia's combination of generous proportions, quality cabin, comprehensive technology, and affordable pricing makes it an exceptionally sensible choice for families and budget-conscious buyers seeking a car that doesn't compromise on comfort or practicality.

What people say
I can recommend Skodas as reliable and sturdy. I drove Skodas as Taxis for many years and more and more Taxi owners adopted them as vehicle of choice for their business.
I love this car! It has exceeded my expectations. Ive had the car for a few days, filled it up for £57 and have driven about 200 miles and there is still over half a tank left. It really is a joy to drive. Gear changing is smooth, it absorbs the bumps in the road really well. Its nippy around town and is really good to drive on the motorways picking up speed very quickly. It doesnt make too much noise when driving on the motorway. The surround sound is brilliant. Its spacious inside. I love the touchscreen functions. Love the fact also that it looks a bit sporty. I highly recommend it.
The Skoda Fabia 1.4 petrol is a cracking little car, packed brim full with useful features. It consistently comes in the top 5 small estate cars. Easy to drive, loads of space, all the safety features, excellent adjustment for seat height, fire and aft adjustment and steering wheel adjustment. Quiet to drive and very economical. Highly recommended
economical, well designed and very good value for money Compare it with VW Polo- cheaper.
Excellent little car at reasonable price and runs really well
