The Skoda Octavia is a smart buy if you’re looking for a big, practical and comfortable commuting or family car. It offers excellent value for money in conjunction with an extensive engine and equipment range, while variants such as the high-performance vRS widen its appeal further. More conventional versions aren’t particularly charismatic, but few will mind given the Skoda’s impressive overall package and affordability.

The car is ideal for a first time driver learning to drive or everyday car, it is comfortable with lots of headroom if you are tall, excellent on fuel over 80mpg on the motorway and 50+ around town etc, the ride is smooth and quiet, cheap road tax on the 1.4 diesel. Basically a good all round car VW running gear in a Skoda skin.
