This van was excellent just what I wanted but unfortunately the latest Vivaro L2 is 60mm shorter in load era than the older L2 model.

All the features needed. Love the automatic locking doors. Well worth the money. Always had a Renault Trafic but this is better

Vauxhall Vivaro (2014-2019) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Wide choice of sizes and layouts | Low-quality cabin plastics |
| Refined and economical turbodiesel engines | Diesels need to be worked hard when the van is fully loaded |
| Enjoyable to drive | Payload is nothing special |
Quick Summary
The Vauxhall Vivaro (2014-2019) is a practical and refined mid-size van that shares its underpinnings with the Renault Trafic. Available in multiple configurations with long and short wheelbases and high and low roofs, it offers flexibility for various business needs. The cabin design is more MPV-like than utilitarian, with a low floor for easy loading and barn doors at the rear. Available as a panel van, six-seat Combi, or nine-seat minibus, the Vivaro accommodates three Euro pallets and easily fits 8ft x 4ft panels. All models feature a metal bulkhead, electric windows, door mirrors, DAB radio, and Bluetooth connectivity.
The 1.6-litre turbodiesel engines are refined, quiet, and reasonably economical, with Euro 5 and Euro 6 compliant versions offering 89bhp to 138bhp depending on specification. Real-world fuel consumption typically ranges from mid-30s to around 40mpg in mixed use, with the BiTurbo 120 achieving 47.9mpg officially. The Vivaro is almost car-like to drive with supple ride quality whether empty or loaded. Service intervals are generous, and independent garages offer competitive rates. Insurance groups range from 9E to 11E. As a used van, it represents excellent value with vastly more satisfied owners than detractors, winning folk over with driving quality and affordability.
Best for: One-man band operators, fleet drivers, and businesses seeking a refined, economical, and enjoyable-to-drive mid-size van with flexible configurations.
Not ideal for: Those requiring maximum payload capacity or preferring premium cabin quality, as the plastics are workmanlike rather than upmarket.

The Verdict
You should buy the Vivaro if: You're a one-man band operator or fleet driver seeking a refined, economical, and enjoyable-to-drive mid-size van with flexible configurations and excellent value.
Consider alternatives if: You require maximum payload capacity or prioritise premium cabin quality over practicality and driving experience.
Competitive Position: The Vauxhall Vivaro (2014-2019) is a strong contender in the mid-size van market, offering excellent value and the highest user rating among its rivals. Whilst the Ford Transit Custom offers slightly better value deals and the Renault Trafic shares the same platform, the Vivaro distinguishes itself through superior driving dynamics and refinement. The Volkswagen Transporter T6 commands a premium for its badge appeal. The Vivaro's combination of practicality, economical turbodiesel engines, and car-like driving experience makes it an outstanding choice for businesses prioritising comfort and efficiency alongside functionality.
