The Volkswagen ID.5 is essentially a sleeker, coupe-styled alternative to the more conventional Volkswagen ID.4 SUV, combining the same comfortable driving experience and low running costs with a more distinctive design. It’s quiet, easy to drive and well equipped, with solid range figures across the board. However, it isn’t particularly fun to drive, even in GTX Edition guise, and rivals such as the Kia EV6 and Tesla Model Y offer better performance and value for money.
