I have always loved Audi cars and I think you got a good collection of cars to make a good choice from. Sometimes there are misrepresentations on some cars. you find that the car is manual whereas the details given do not much the pictures of the car. Just something to be mindful of other than that you are excellent

Audi A4 (2016-2024) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Quiet and comfortable on long journeys | Not as engaging to drive as the BMW 3 Series or Jaguar XE |
| Wide range of efficient petrol and diesel engines | The Avant is not as practical as larger estate cars for similar money |
| Well equipped, even in the base model | Ride comfort suffers with sport suspension |
Quick Summary
The Audi A4 (2016-2024) is a classy and competent executive saloon and estate car that represents the fifth and final generation of this popular model. Available as a traditional four-door saloon or the more spacious A4 Avant estate, it combines smart styling with a beautifully appointed interior and impressive build quality. The A4 offers a spacious boot comparable to the BMW 3 Series, with flexible rear seating that splits into three sections. A comprehensive range of efficient petrol and diesel engines ensures there's an option for most driving needs, with the 2.0 TDI Ultra diesel achieving around 50-55mpg and petrol variants delivering approximately 40-45mpg in real-world conditions.
Whilst the A4 isn't as engaging to drive as some rivals, it excels as a motorway cruiser with smooth engines, excellent insulation, and a firm-but-fair ride quality that strikes a good balance between comfort and control. The standard infotainment system and available Virtual Cockpit digital dials are first-class, whilst the SE trim offers excellent value with plenty of features including climate control and alloy wheels. The A4 was replaced by the A5 in 2024, making used examples increasingly attractive to buyers seeking a premium, well-equipped executive saloon with proven reliability and low running costs.
Best for: Buyers seeking a premium, well-equipped executive saloon or estate with excellent comfort and efficiency, those prioritising long-distance driving comfort, and drivers wanting a classy alternative to sportier rivals.
Not ideal for: Those prioritising engaging driving dynamics, buyers needing maximum practicality in an estate car, or drivers sensitive to ride stiffness with larger alloy wheels.
Comparison vs Key Rivals

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Audi A4 | 4/5 | 5.0/5 | 37.0% | 4.4/5 |
| Mercedes-Benz C-Class | 4/5 | 4.6/5 | 38.0% | 4.5/5 |
| BMW 3 Series | 5/5 | 4.4/5 | 35.5% | 4.5/5 |
| Jaguar XE | 4/5 | 4.5/5 | 38.3% | 4.2/5 |
The Verdict
You should buy the A4 if: You're seeking a premium, well-equipped executive saloon or estate with excellent comfort and efficiency, prioritise long-distance driving comfort, or want a classy alternative to sportier rivals.
Consider alternatives if: You prioritise engaging driving dynamics, need maximum practicality in an estate car, or are sensitive to ride stiffness with larger alloy wheels.
Competitive Position: The Audi A4 (2016-2024) is a strong contender in the premium executive saloon market, offering excellent user satisfaction and good value. Whilst the BMW 3 Series edges ahead for driving engagement and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class offers a more aspirational badge, the A4 excels in comfort, efficiency, and interior quality. It represents a smart, well-rounded choice for buyers prioritising long-distance comfort and equipment over outright driving thrills, with the added flexibility of the A4 Avant estate option making it particularly appealing to those needing extra practicality.
