Hyundai i10 (2020-present) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |

| Economical and well equipped | No three-door version |
| Generous warranty | Not as much fun to drive as a Seat Ibiza |
Quick Summary
The Hyundai i10 (2020-present) is a supermini that delivers everything you need from an everyday runabout in a compact and affordable package. This generation features smart styling, particularly with optional two-tone paint, and benefits from Hyundai's excellent five-year unlimited mileage warranty and breakdown cover. The interior is well thought-out with a high-mounted touchscreen infotainment system, supportive seats, and good visibility. Despite its small exterior dimensions, the i10 offers surprising practicality with five-door bodywork, ample rear legroom for two six-footers, and a 252-litre boot that expands to 1,050 litres with the 60/40 split-fold rear seats lowered.
On the road, the i10 strikes an impressive balance between comfort and composure, dismissing potholes whilst remaining well-behaved through country roads. The light steering makes town driving effortless, whilst the small turning circle enhances manoeuvrability. Engine options include a 1.0-litre MPi, 1.2-litre MPi, and a 99bhp turbocharged 1.0-litre T-GDi available in the N Line trim. Fuel economy is excellent, with the 1.2-litre manual returning 55.4mpg. Insurance groups range from 3 to 10, keeping premiums affordable. With a service every 10,000 miles or annually, running costs remain low. The i10 represents outstanding value as a used purchase, combining reliability, practicality, and peace of mind.
Best for: Budget-conscious buyers seeking a practical, economical, and reliable city car; families needing a compact runabout; and those valuing warranty coverage and low running costs.
Not ideal for: Drivers prioritising three-door bodywork, those wanting Apple CarPlay or Android Auto on entry-level models, or buyers seeking sportier handling comparable to a Seat Ibiza.

The Verdict
You should buy the i10 if: You're budget-conscious and seeking a practical, economical, and reliable city car; you need a compact runabout for family use; or you value warranty coverage and low running costs.
Consider alternatives if: You require a three-door bodywork option, want Apple CarPlay or Android Auto on entry-level models, or prioritise sportier handling comparable to a Seat Ibiza.
Competitive Position: The Hyundai i10 (2020-present) is one of the best small cars available, setting a benchmark for others to follow. It combines smart design, excellent practicality, and impressive economy with genuine comfort and reliability. Whilst the Toyota Aygo X offers more deals, the i10 delivers superior expert ratings and a more balanced overall package. The Kia Picanto is a worthy alternative, but the i10's five-year warranty and comprehensive equipment make it the standout choice for used buyers seeking peace of mind alongside affordability and practicality.

What people say
This is an amazing little car, so smooth to run and economical as well. Really nippy getting from a to b
I bought the 1.2 ltr SE model which is plenty nippy enough for me. I dont need Alloys, Heated seats, or Sat Nav. I would have liked rear parking sensors, but as it is a small car this is not a problem. It has a good all round view and is not difficult to park. I It is more roomy than other cars in this class like the Skoda Citigo or the VW UP. It is also less expensive, but holds its value pretty well. I choose an automatic which has a very smooth gear change, unlike the Skoda Citigo, which was extremely jerky. The only car I thought was better was the Ford Fiesta, but in my opinion was very overpriced.
I am very happy with the car. It drives well for a 1.2 and is comfortable. We have a 4 door but space in back of the car and in the boot is very small. But this car suits our needs very well.
Good condition: Body work, Interior, mechanically. Meets our requirements for a second vehicle at a price tag which, in or onion was great value for the condition and mileage. Our previous experience with the Hyundai Brand has been excellent so did no compare other brands in our decision.
Excellent car. Very nippy. Lots of features on the car which is typical of Hyundai way ahead of time
