Looks great from any angle. The bargain 300hp 2.0 version has plenty of power and returns 35+mpg. Put it in Sports mode and it flies. Would have liked a bit more room inside for a coat, jumper, map etc; the rear shelf is not usable. But as a drivers car its fantastic.

Jaguar F-Type (2013-present) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Sublime styling | Only two seats |
| Great fun to drive | V8 drinks fuel |
| Relatively good value for what it is | Tiny boot in convertible models |
Quick Summary
The Jaguar F-Type (2013-present) is a stunning two-seater sports car that finally gave Jaguar a true successor to its legendary E-Type. Available in both coupe and convertible forms, the F-Type offers a compelling blend of striking design, exhilarating performance, and genuine driving pleasure. The 2020 facelift brought significant improvements, including a sharper exterior design, updated interior, and superior infotainment system. The range spans from the accessible 2.0-litre turbocharged P300 through to the potent supercharged V8 variants, with the range-topping P575 R delivering 575bhp and four-wheel drive for serious performance.
The coupe provides a more practical daily proposition with a 299-310 litre boot, whilst the convertible sacrifices some practicality with a 200-233 litre boot but offers the thrill of open-air motoring. The P300 achieves around 29mpg in real-world driving, whilst the V8 models return approximately 25-26mpg. All models come well-equipped with leather sports seats, LED headlights, climate control, and premium audio systems. Running costs are reasonable for a sports car, with fixed-price servicing available from Jaguar. The F-Type represents excellent value compared to its direct rivals, offering British sporting heritage at a more accessible price point than competitors like the Porsche 718 Boxster or Audi TT.
Best for: Sports car enthusiasts seeking stunning design and thrilling performance, buyers wanting a genuine alternative to Porsche or Audi, and those who appreciate British engineering and heritage.
Not ideal for: Families requiring more than two seats, buyers prioritising fuel economy, or those with limited budgets for insurance and maintenance on high-performance variants.

| Jaguar F-Type | 4/5 | 4.9/5 | 33.2% | 4.2/5 |

The Verdict
You should buy the F-Type if: You're seeking a stunning sports car with genuine driving appeal, want a British alternative to German rivals, or desire excellent value for a high-performance two-seater.
Consider alternatives if: You require more than two seats, prioritise fuel economy, or need the ultimate handling dynamics of a Porsche 718 Boxster.
Competitive Position: The Jaguar F-Type is a worthy competitor in the premium sports car segment, offering sublime styling and exhilarating performance at a more accessible price than the Porsche 718 Boxster. Whilst the Porsche edges ahead in driving dynamics and user satisfaction, the F-Type's distinctive design, strong standard equipment, and British heritage make it a compelling alternative. It outperforms the BMW Z4 and Audi TT in overall ratings and value proposition, making it an excellent choice for buyers seeking a genuine sports car experience without the premium Porsche badge premium. The F-Type represents a deliberate and rewarding choice for those who appreciate something different.
