The Range Rover Sport combines two highly distinct qualities: it’s brilliant to drive on and off-road. You could say the same about the conventional Range Rover, but the Sport takes the on-road handling aspect a step further, because it feels like a proper luxury performance car. Now in its third generation, the original was introduced in 2005 – the second followed in 2013 – and the bonkers fast SVR models are now counteracted by a plug-in hybrid. Do not think this is even remotely an economical car, though – running costs are extremely high and reliability has been patchy over the years.
