Nissan Juke (2020-present) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Distinctive looks | Limited powertrain options |
| Classy-feeling interior | Rear headroom slightly tight |
| Competitive boot space | Patchy reliability record |
Quick Summary
The Nissan Juke Mk2 (2020-present) is a small crossover SUV that continues its predecessor's tradition of bold, eye-catching styling. While perhaps less outlandish than the original, it remains distinctive in a crowded market. It features a well-made, premium-feeling interior with improved cabin materials after a 2024 update, offering a comfortable driving position. The boot space is competitive at around 420 litres, though slightly reduced in hybrid models.
Power comes from a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine (113bhp) or a self-charging hybrid (140bhp) introduced in 2022. The petrol offers good zip for urban driving, while the hybrid prioritises electric-only driving at low speeds, though it can be noisy under hard acceleration. The ride is firm but handles neatly with good grip and steering feedback. Running costs are reasonable, with petrol models achieving low 40s mpg and hybrids around 50mpg in real-world driving.
Best for: Drivers seeking distinctive styling, a premium-feeling interior, and competitive boot space in a small SUV.
Not ideal for: Buyers prioritising maximum rear headroom, consistent quietness from the hybrid engine under acceleration, or a softer ride on all surfaces.
Comparison vs Key Rivals
| Vehicle | CarGurus Expert Rating | CarGurus User Rating | Good/Great deals % | Overall CarGurus Rating |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nissan Juke | 3/5 | 4.6/5 | 31.6% | 4.2/5 |
| Ford Puma | 5/5 | 3.9/5 | 34.3% | 4.5/5 |
| Renault Captur | 4/5 | 4.5/5 | 29.9% | 4.4/5 |
| Volkswagen T-Cross | 4/5 | 4.0/5 | 31.1% | 4.2/5 |
The Verdict
You should buy the Juke if: You appreciate distinctive styling, a classy interior, and competitive practicality in a compact SUV.
Consider alternatives if: You need more rear headroom, a consistently quieter hybrid powertrain, or a softer ride, or if you prefer a diesel option.
Competitive Position: The Nissan Juke Mk2 stands out in the crowded small SUV market with its unique styling and a significantly improved, premium-feeling interior compared to its predecessor. While it faces stiff competition from rivals like the Ford Puma and VW T-Cross, offering a blend of modern tech and reasonable running costs, its firm ride and specific hybrid characteristics might not appeal to everyone. It remains a strong choice for those drawn to its visual punch and updated cabin.

4.7 Overall rating
(68 reviews)Good looks and good value for family use only
The car is great value. The only things does not have is boot hands free close. Also front and back dash board cameras
It seems like a lot of car for the money, it seems to have everything and is quite roomy for a compact vehicle
With the mileage not very high for a 2017 plate & the expected value of miles per gallon it is a good deal. Shame they don’t have parking sensors
The Nissan juke is well worth the money great car. Would recommend
