| Affordable running costs | Hybrid 4 only comes in pricey GT trim |
Quick Summary
The Peugeot 3008 (2016-2023) is Peugeot's stylish answer to the compact crossover market, marking a significant shift from its predecessor towards slicker design and an upmarket feel. This second-generation model quickly became a strong seller and remains one of the best family SUVs available used. Its interior still feels fresh, featuring a digital i-Cockpit, high build quality, and good materials. Crucially for families, it offers high practicality with plenty of legroom, headroom, and a substantial boot, though the hybrid model's boot is slightly smaller.
On the road, the 3008 prioritises comfort and relaxation, offering a composed and poised drive, with its small steering wheel contributing to a nimble feel. Engine options include efficient petrol (1.2 PureTech 130 recommended) and diesel (1.5 BlueHDi 130 recommended) units, alongside plug-in hybrids with impressive potential MPG. Trim levels are generous, even the entry-level Active includes 17-inch alloys and rear parking sensors, while higher trims add features like a reversing camera, satnav, LED headlights, and heated, massaging seats. It's a safe choice, boasting a five-star EuroNCAP rating and various driver aids. Running costs are affordable, with competitive fuel economy and fixed-price servicing options.
Best for: Those seeking a stylish and practical family SUV, buyers who appreciate a high-quality, modern interior with plenty of tech, and drivers prioritising comfort and relaxation over driving excitement.
Not ideal for: Drivers prioritising an exhilarating driving experience, those sensitive to potential headroom issues with a panoramic sunroof, or buyers expecting the infotainment system to be as responsive as the very best (pre-facelift).

4.6 Overall rating
(19 reviews)The car was advertised as ex demo low mileage and it was as described. Top of the range but no extras and good value.
Excellent vehicle terrific build quality, and a dream to drive.
This is a truly exceptional SUV. I bought a 69 reg 3008 GT premium and I love how futuristic it looks. I can not find anything to complain about. The 1.5 litre diesel engine is very smooth and quiet when driving. With steady non rushed driving I get around 60mpg. The 8 speed auto is the best I have had. It beats the 7 g tronic MB box and the BMW gearbox. It is sublimely smooth. You must check what the spec is before you buy because even the premium doesn’t always get leather and adaptive cruise. All in all a superb car
Does everything we need of it. V comfortable, quiet, economical and extremely pleasant to look at! Love it.
Excellent , good looking car with lots of internal space. Hood spec, all the bells & whistles expected with a premium priced motor . Not capacity not great but option of folding down the rear seats to gain extra room. Fantastic alloys
