Renault Clio (2027) Pros and Cons

Pros	Cons
Good balance of comfort and fun	Rear seats could be roomier
Very decent for boot space	As yet unsure on prices and specs
Great infotainment system	No Renaultsport version planned

Quick Summary

The Renault Clio (2027) is the sixth-generation iteration of this iconic supermini, featuring a dramatically redesigned exterior with aggressive styling, a larger 4.17m body, and distinctive twin rear lights. Powered by either a new 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine or an updated self-charging hybrid system with a 1.8-litre petrol engine and dual electric motors, the Clio delivers responsive handling and a happy blend of comfort. With up to 391 litres of boot space and one of the best infotainment systems in its class, the Clio proves practical and efficient, achieving up to 72mpg and emissions as low as 89g/km in hybrid form.

The Clio is a fantastic all-rounder that balances practicality with driving enjoyment. Its updated interior features quality materials, with mid-spec Techno trim receiving graded dashboard patterns and top-spec Esprit Alpine offering Alcantara trim. The touchscreen system is intuitive, complemented by physical air-con controls and easy-access driver assistance buttons. Expected pricing around £19,000 to £26,000 positions it competitively within the supermini segment. Whilst the rear seats lack the roominess of some rivals and there are no plans for a hot hatch variant, the Clio remains a sensible, efficient choice for families and commuters seeking a well-equipped, enjoyable small car.

Best for: Families and commuters seeking a practical, efficient, and well-equipped supermini with excellent infotainment and a good balance of comfort and driving engagement.

Not ideal for: Those prioritising maximum rear legroom, buyers seeking a hot hatch variant, or those wanting confirmed specifications and pricing before purchase.
