When a new car is the sequel to the biggest-selling car of all time – the Toyota Corolla – and it’s named after the Latin word for gold, it needs to be pretty decent. And the Auris is; decent, that is. Perhaps not much more than that, but it’s a competent all-rounder with no major faults. That said, there are hatchbacks from this time period that are more impressive, and in a variety of ways.
