Quick Summary
The Toyota Verso (2013-2018) is a practical and reliable seven-seater family MPV that prioritises functionality over fashion. Available as a five- or seven-seater, the Verso features a flexible cabin with individually sliding middle-row seats and completely flat-folding rear rows, transforming it into a spacious cargo carrier. The post-2013 facelifted models are identifiable by their slimmer grilles and headlights. With a 155-litre boot when all seats are in place and 440 litres with the rear seats folded, it offers genuine versatility for families. The cabin is durable and easy to clean, featuring seatback picnic trays and bottle holders in the rear wheel arches.
Powered by 1.6-litre or 2.0-litre diesel engines, or 1.6-litre and 1.8-litre petrol options, the Verso delivers adequate motorway performance and reasonable economy without excitement. The 1.6-litre diesel achieves an impressive 62.8mpg, whilst petrol engines return around 41-43mpg. Toyota's reputation for reliability and longevity shines through, with service intervals every 12 months or 10,000 miles. Insurance groupings range from 10 to 11, keeping premiums affordable. Available in Active, Excel, Icon and Design trims, the Verso offers excellent value as a used family car, with low running costs and bulletproof build quality making it an indispensable choice for hassle-free motoring.
Best for: Families seeking practical, reliable seven-seater transport, budget-conscious buyers prioritising value and low running costs, and those needing flexible seating and storage solutions.
Not ideal for: Buyers seeking stylish design, engaging driving dynamics, or maximum luggage space with all seats occupied.

(13 reviews)Very Good because family useful and long trip very safe
Best car I have ever owned. There is nothing else out there you can compare it to.
The Toyota Verso model is better from the point that its six speed gear box, key start, & is 100% reliable The Corolla Verso is five speed & is push button start, thats not clever during the winter months
This car can almost pass for a 5seater when looking from exterior. Its just the right size stops you feeling like you drive a truck.
Nice car economy for family comfortable seat nice journeys
