Vauxhall Mokka (2021-present) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Funky to look at | Not the most practical car of its type |
| Punchy petrol engine | Some interior panels don't impress on quality |
| Most trim levels have decent kit | Many rivals are better on the road |
Quick Summary
The second-generation Vauxhall Mokka (2021-present) makes a bold statement in the competitive supermini-SUV market with its distinctive, edgy styling, a significant departure from its predecessor. It offers a more refined driving experience and a generous level of standard equipment across most trims, including a touchscreen infotainment system and digital instrumentation. Available with petrol, diesel, and an all-electric Mokka-e variant, it caters to diverse preferences while aiming for kerbside appeal.
The Mokka's petrol engines deliver punchy performance, and the Mokka-e provides a compelling, quiet electric drive with attractive tax savings for company car drivers. However, practicality is somewhat compromised by limited rear headroom and a high boot lip, and some interior materials feel less premium. While it may not excel in every area compared to its numerous rivals, its striking looks and improved overall package make it an attractive option for those prioritising style and modern features.
Best for: Drivers prioritising distinctive styling, those looking for an electric SUV option that isn't excessively priced, and buyers who appreciate a good level of standard equipment.
Not ideal for: Buyers who need maximum practicality (especially rear headroom and boot access), those who prioritise the highest quality interior materials throughout, or drivers seeking the most dynamic handling in the segment.
Comparison vs Key Rivals

| Vauxhall Mokka | 3/5 | 4.8/5 | 31.5% | 4.2/5 |

| Volkswagen T-Cross | 4/5 | 4.0/5 | 33.0% | 4.2/5 |

The Verdict
You should buy the Mokka if: You prioritise distinctive styling, are looking for an electric SUV option that isn't excessively priced, or appreciate a good level of standard equipment.
Consider alternatives if: You need maximum practicality (especially rear headroom and boot access), prioritise the highest quality interior materials throughout, or seek the most dynamic handling in the segment.
Competitive Position: The Vauxhall Mokka (2021-present) distinguishes itself in the highly competitive small SUV market primarily through its bold, contemporary styling. While it offers significant improvements over its predecessor in driving dynamics and standard equipment, it faces strong rivals like the Ford Puma and Volkswagen T-Cross that might offer better overall practicality or a more refined driving experience. Its electric Mokka-e variant provides a strong value proposition in the EV segment, making it an appealing choice for company car drivers due to tax savings. The Mokka is a compelling option for style-conscious buyers willing to overlook minor compromises in practicality and interior material consistency.

4.8 Overall rating
(32 reviews)Great value, has all the features you need such as heated seats, revers camera etc plus filly electric. The Mokka E I bought was great value for money and cheaper than a petrol version.
Good size overall, big boot for the size of car. Very comfortable to drive.
Great find and brilliant value. Lovely comfortable family vehicle
I Love the look of this car but the lack of space in rear made my decision to not buy this car. Its is too small for teenagers or adults to sit comfortably on long journeys
Very nice Mokka with all leather interior. Just felt too big to handle for me and clutch a bit heavy. Bought fiat 500 X instead and very pleased
