The all-new Volkswagen T-Roc has been unveiled, with the second-generation version of VW’s crossover SUV gaining a range of new hybrid powertrains and a sleeker look. It’s due in UK showrooms in early 2026, with prices starting at about £31,000.
Here’s all the information you need to know about the 2026 Volkswagen T-Roc.
2026 Volkswagen T-Roc: Price, Specs and Release Date

2026 Volkswagen T-Roc: styling and dimensions
The 2026 Volkswagen T-Roc is an all-new model that evolves the look of the first-generation car, which went on sale in 2017. Elements that are carried over include distinctive curved creases over the rear wheels and a contrasting black roof option.
The new T-Roc is 9mm wider and 9mm wider than the outgoing model but it has a sleeker look overall, thanks partly to the fact that it’s 12cm longer.
Exterior design highlights include slim triangular headlights, a full-width rear light bar and the availability of an illuminated front grille and VW emblem.

2026 Volkswagen T-Roc: interior design and practicality
The new T-Roc has a similar interior design to Volkswagen’s latest models, with a rectangular digital driver display and large central touchscreen. After criticism of the unresponsive touchscreens and fiddly haptic steering wheel controls of some of its models over recent years, Volkswagen is in the process of reintroducing manual controls and the new T-Roc has conventional manual steering wheel switches and a wheel between the front seats that can be used to select either audio volume or drive modes. Volkswagen's latest infotainment system is included, while a head-up display is a new option for the T-Roc.
VW says the T-Roc’s additional length gives improved rear legroom, while boot space to the load cover has increased by 30 litres to 475 litres.

2026 Volkswagen T-Roc: engines and driving dynamics
From launch, the T-Roc will be available with a choice of two 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol engines with outputs of 114bhp or 148bhp, both with front-wheel drive and a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox as standard. Volkswagen’s first self-charging hybrid powertrain will be available from mid-2026 and VW has confirmed that a high-performance T-Roc R model will also join the range.

2026 Volkswagen T-Roc: price and release date
The 2026 VW T-Roc is already available to pre-order in its home market of Germany and it's due to go on sale in the UK in early 2026.
Prices haven’t been confirmed, but we’d expect an increase over the outgoing model, which starts at just over £29,000, especially since the new T-Roc has an automatic gearbox as standard. An entry point of about £31,000 looks likely.
Initial trim levels have been confirmed as Life, Style and R-Line. Standard equipment for Life models includes a rear-view camera and a 12.9-inch infotainment screen; Style adds extras such as front massage seats, keyless entry and illuminated front and rear VW logos while R-Line models have a sporty makeover and lowered suspension.
