The Hyundai Ioniq 5 was launched in 2021, and suffice to say it gave customers, the media, dealers and car enthusiasts everywhere a bit of a shock. Here was a family EV that looked like a concept car, was jam-packed with loads of technology and didn’t cost the world. All of that remains true today. Prices are comparable to rivals, it still looks brilliant, and thanks to various updates over the past few years – including a facelift in 2024 – there’s more tech aboard the Ioniq 5 than ever before. However, the electric SUV market is also busier than ever before, so we’d suggest trying one before you buy one.
