Great car and customer service from Blackdown 4x4 centre. The car was presented in very good condition , only let down was the hole in the rubber mat on drivers side which was covered by the paper foot mat.

Excellent features on the Evoque, drives very nice, not as harsh as my previous vehicle. Controls easy to work. Everything to hand for the driver. The Heads up is new to me, but a fantastic feature to have. Overall very pleased with the vehicle.

Range Rover Evoque (2019-present) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| More affordable than a large Range Rover | Be wary of Land Rover's reliability record |
| Comfortable ride on standard or optional adaptive suspension | Not as sporty to drive as the first-gen Evoque |
| Low running costs of plug-in hybrid | Some rivals are roomier |
Quick Summary
The Range Rover Evoque (2019-present) is a stylish and luxurious compact SUV that delivers Range Rover levels of sophistication at a more accessible price point. The second-generation model features modernised design with contemporary technology, including flush door handles and a minimalist interior inspired by the larger Range Rover Velar. With a 591-litre boot and comfortable seating for five, it offers reasonable practicality, though the sloping roofline and rising window line reduce rear headroom and visibility compared to some rivals. The clever ClearSight camera system helps mitigate rear visibility concerns.
The Evoque excels in driving dynamics, offering a grown-up, wafty ride quality whilst maintaining excellent stability through corners and impressive off-road capability. Multiple powertrain options are available, including petrol, diesel, mild hybrid, and plug-in hybrid variants. The plug-in hybrid is particularly appealing for lower running costs on shorter journeys. Strong resale values help offset higher purchase and servicing costs, making it a sound financial choice. Standard equipment is generous, with higher trims adding premium features like leather upholstery, adaptive cruise control, and keyless entry.
Best for: Buyers seeking a premium, stylish compact SUV with excellent off-road capability, those prioritising comfort and Range Rover brand appeal, and drivers interested in plug-in hybrid technology for lower emissions.
Not ideal for: Those concerned about Land Rover reliability, buyers needing maximum interior space, or those seeking the sportiest driving experience in the compact SUV segment.
Comparison vs Key Rivals

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Range Rover Evoque | 4/5 | 4.3/5 | 34.7% | 4.3/5 |
| Audi Q3 | 4/5 | 4.3/5 | 33.7% | 4.3/5 |
| Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class | 4/5 | 5.0/5 | 34.6% | 4.4/5 |
| Volvo XC40 | 4/5 | 4.6/5 | 34.7% | 4.5/5 |
The Verdict
You should buy the Evoque if: You desire a premium, stylish compact SUV with excellent off-road capability, prioritise comfort and Range Rover brand appeal, or are interested in plug-in hybrid technology for lower emissions.
Consider alternatives if: You are concerned about Land Rover reliability, need maximum interior space, or seek the sportiest driving experience in the compact SUV segment.
Competitive Position: The Range Rover Evoque (2019-present) is a highly desirable compact premium SUV that combines striking design with genuine off-road capability and on-road comfort. Whilst rivals like the Volvo XC40 and Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class offer comparable ratings and practicality, the Evoque's distinctive styling and Range Rover heritage provide strong appeal. However, potential buyers should carefully consider Land Rover's reliability reputation and compare interior space with competitors. The plug-in hybrid option is a significant advantage for those seeking lower running costs, making the Evoque a compelling choice for style-conscious buyers who value comfort and capability over maximum practicality.
