Its great all-round 4x4 pickup. Lots of features, good engine which gives good performance. Reliable. Stylish looks. Good value for money and holds its value relatively well. One of the best in its sector.

Mitsubishi L200 (2020-2021) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Range-topping models have lots of standard kit | Some rivals offer more power and performance |
| The diesel engine is fuel-efficient | A SsangYong Musso is better value |
| Easier to drive around town than bigger pickups | The Ford Ranger has a bigger load bed |
Quick Summary
The Mitsubishi L200 Series 6 (2020-2021) is a capable and stylish pickup truck that represents a comprehensive update to its predecessor. Featuring a striking front-end design and available in double-cab or club-cab configurations, the L200 offers practical space for five occupants. With a maximum payload of 1080kg and a 3.5-tonne towing capacity, it's competitive within its class. The single turbodiesel engine delivers 148bhp and 295lb ft of torque, paired with either a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox, achieving 32.1mpg and 29.1mpg respectively. Although Mitsubishi has withdrawn from the UK market, the company continues to provide servicing, warranty support, and aftersales care.
The L200 excels in urban environments thanks to its compact dimensions and tight turning circle, making it less intimidating than larger rivals like the Volkswagen Amarok. Six trim levels are available, from the basic 4Life to the fully equipped Barbarian X, with higher specifications offering Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, heated leather seats, and advanced driver assistance systems. Running costs are reasonable, with insurance groups ranging from 37 to 42 depending on specification. However, the L200 requires servicing every 12,500 miles, more frequently than some competitors. While not class-leading in power or load-bed dimensions, the L200 offers keen pricing and comprehensive standard equipment, making it a sensible choice for those prioritising fuel efficiency and urban manoeuvrability.
Best for: Buyers seeking a fuel-efficient pickup with excellent standard equipment, those who regularly navigate busy urban streets, and drivers who value a tight turning circle and manageable size.
Not ideal for: Those requiring maximum power and performance, buyers needing the largest load bed available, or those seeking the absolute best value in the pickup market.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mitsubishi L200 | 3/5 | 4.4/5 | 34.7% | 4.1/5 |

The Verdict
You should buy the L200 if: You prioritise fuel efficiency and standard equipment, regularly navigate busy urban streets, or value a manageable size and tight turning circle in a pickup truck.
Consider alternatives if: You require maximum power and performance, need the largest load bed available, or are seeking the absolute best value in the pickup market.
Competitive Position: The Mitsubishi L200 (2020-2021) is a capable pickup that offers excellent value and comprehensive standard equipment, particularly in higher trim levels. Whilst it doesn't match rivals like the Ford Ranger for power, performance, or load-bed dimensions, its fuel efficiency, urban manoeuvrability, and keen pricing make it a sensible choice for practical buyers. The L200's compact size and tight turning circle provide distinct advantages in town driving compared to larger competitors. Continued manufacturer support for servicing and warranty matters further strengthen its appeal as a used purchase, despite Mitsubishi's withdrawal from the UK market.
