Nissan Micra (2025-present) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Great to drive | Lacks the Renault 5's wow factor |
| Smart interior | Citroen e-C3 has a more spacious boot |
| Comfortable ride | Rear doors could open wider |
Quick Summary
The Nissan Micra (2025-present) marks the return of a household name, reimagined as an all-electric supermini. Sharing its 'AmpR Small' platform with the acclaimed Renault 5, this sixth-generation Micra is just under 4 metres long and takes design cues from the Mk3 Micra. It offers a choice of a 40kWh battery with up to 192 miles WLTP range or a 52kWh battery providing up to 253 miles. While a restyled version of the Renault 5, it retains that car's excellent driving dynamics, offering a fun yet unintimidating experience with precise steering and comfortable, controlled suspension.
Practicality is good for its class, with space for four adults and a decent 326-litre boot, although it has a high load lip. The interior is smart and recognisably Renault 5, with advanced infotainment and Google app functionality across all three trim levels: Engage, Advance, and Evolve. Key safety features like adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist are standard. While UK pricing is yet to be confirmed, it's expected to be competitive with the Renault 5, with real-world ranges estimated between 170-230 miles for the 52kWh model. The Micra offers a comfortable ride and smart interior, making it a peachy little EV to live with.
Best for: Drivers seeking a fun, comfortable, and practical all-electric supermini; those who appreciate smart interiors and advanced tech.
Not ideal for: Buyers prioritising the Renault 5's distinct styling "wow factor" or needing a more spacious boot than what the Micra offers (e.g., Citroen e-C3).
Comparison vs Key Rivals

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nissan Micra | 4/5 | 4.3/5 | 29.4% | 4.4/5 |

The Verdict
You should buy the Micra if: You're seeking a fun, comfortable, and practical all-electric supermini, or appreciate smart interiors and advanced tech.
Consider alternatives if: You prioritise the Renault 5's distinct styling "wow factor" or need a more spacious boot than what the Micra offers (e.g., Citroen e-C3).
Competitive Position: The Nissan Micra (2025-present) is a highly competent and appealing all-electric supermini, benefiting significantly from its shared platform and dynamics with the excellent Renault 5. It offers a fun and comfortable driving experience, a smart interior, and respectable practicality for its class. While it may lack the unique visual "wow factor" of the Renault 5 or the radical interior versatility of rivals like the Hyundai Inster, its strong driving credentials and expected competitive pricing position it as a very good option for those seeking a well-rounded and easy-to-live-with EV. It will need to undercut key rivals on price to truly stand out.

(31 reviews)Great car - easy to run and inexpensive to keep going
Quality car at an affordable price. Just the right car for a new driver like me.
In the past I have had two Nissan Micra cars. They were both the best cars for me. Easy to drive, easy to service, easy to park and a delight to drive. Maybe they were designed for women drivers?m looking for a Mica electric, which will be the last car I drive before handing in my driving gloves just for the sheep joy and independence it would give me before I am too old to drive. I would like to thank Nissan for the pleasure I had with the ones I once owned.
It’s a great car superbly designed to please everyone
Love my automatic so easy to drive, great service
