Nissan Micra (2025-present) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Great to drive | Lacks the Renault 5's wow factor |
| Smart interior | Citroen e-C3 has a more spacious boot |
| Comfortable ride | Rear doors could open wider |
Quick Summary
The new, sixth-generation Nissan Micra (2025-present) marks a significant shift as an all-electric vehicle, drawing inspiration from the bug-eyed Mk3 Micra and sharing its platform with the Renault 5. It measures just under 4 meters long, offering a 326-litre boot and underfloor storage for charging cables, making it practical for a small car. The interior feels smart, with top-spec models featuring unique design elements and a large, user-friendly infotainment system with Google integration.
Driving dynamics are a strong point, mirroring the acclaimed Renault 5 with a balanced, fun, and unintimidating feel. It offers a 40kWh battery (up to 192 miles WLTP range) or a 52kWh battery (up to 253 miles WLTP range), with power outputs of 121bhp or 152bhp respectively. Unique to the Micra are three-level brake regen paddles. While UK pricing is unconfirmed, it's expected to be competitive, with list prices potentially starting under £23,000, aiming for appealing monthly finance options.
Best for: Drivers seeking a fun, comfortable, and practical small electric car, those who appreciate smart interiors and good driving dynamics, and buyers looking for competitive pricing in the EV supermini segment.
Not ideal for: Buyers seeking a petrol option, those prioritising the "wow factor" of the Renault 5's styling, or those needing a boot layout with a completely flat floor when seats are folded.

The Verdict
You should buy the Micra if: You're seeking a fun, comfortable, and practical small electric car, appreciate smart interiors and good driving dynamics, or are looking for competitive pricing in the EV supermini segment.
Consider alternatives if: You need a petrol option, prioritise the "wow factor" of the Renault 5's styling, or require a boot layout with a completely flat floor when seats are folded.
Competitive Position: The Nissan Micra (2025-present) is a strong contender in the burgeoning small electric car market, leveraging the acclaimed platform and driving dynamics of the Renault 5. It offers a fun yet comfortable driving experience, a smart interior, and decent practicality for its size. While it might lack the immediate "wow factor" of its Renault sibling and faces stiff competition from rivals like the Hyundai Inster and BYD Dolphin, its expected competitive pricing and practical features make it a sensible choice for those seeking an all-electric supermini.

(31 reviews)Great price for Micra great car to drive and great on fuel
Great car - easy to run and inexpensive to keep going
Quality car at an affordable price. Just the right car for a new driver like me.
In the past I have had two Nissan Micra cars. They were both the best cars for me. Easy to drive, easy to service, easy to park and a delight to drive. Maybe they were designed for women drivers?m looking for a Mica electric, which will be the last car I drive before handing in my driving gloves just for the sheep joy and independence it would give me before I am too old to drive. I would like to thank Nissan for the pleasure I had with the ones I once owned.
It’s a great car superbly designed to please everyone
