In late 2010, Vauxhall introduced a facelift with new 2.2-litre diesel engines offering 161bhp or 181bhp, delivering stronger performance and improved efficiency. However, the Antara struggles from the driver's seat, with bland handling and a disappointing driving experience compared to rivals like the Ford Kuga. Boot space is modest at 420 litres with rear seats upright, and the interior feels low-rent. Reliability is another weakness, though as a used buy, the Antara remains exceptionally affordable, particularly the post-facelift models with the punchy 2.2 diesel engines.
