The Tucson is Hyundai’s midsize SUV and it competes for buyers’ affections with the likes of the Nissan Qashqai, Kia Sportage, Ford Kuga, Mazda CX-5, Peugeot 3008, Seat Ateca and many more. It was first introduced in 2004, and was replaced in 2009 by the second-generation version, which was called ix35 here in the UK, even though it was still called Tucson elsewhere in the world. Hyundai reverted back to the Tucson name for the third generation, introduced in 2015, and stuck with it for the fourth generation, which arrived in 2020. It’s a cracking all-rounder, and a favourite with family car buyers.
