Its great all-round 4x4 pickup. Lots of features, good engine which gives good performance. Reliable. Stylish looks. Good value for money and holds its value relatively well. One of the best in its sector.

| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|

| Easier to drive around town than bigger pickups | The Ford Ranger has a bigger load bed |
Quick Summary
The Mitsubishi L200 Series 6 (2020-2021) is a capable and well-equipped pickup truck that represents a comprehensive update to its predecessor. Launched in 2019, it features striking styling and a focus on comfort and efficiency without compromising practicality. Available predominantly as a double-cab with four doors and seating for five, the L200 offers a maximum payload of 1080kg and a towing capacity of 3.5 tonnes. With six trim levels ranging from the 4Life to the Barbarian X, buyers can choose the specification that suits their needs, with higher trims offering advanced technology and comfort features.
Powered by a single 2268cc turbodiesel engine producing 148bhp and 295lb ft of torque, the L200 delivers respectable fuel economy of 32.1mpg with the manual gearbox and 29.1mpg with the automatic. Whilst rivals like the Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux offer more power, the L200 compensates with keen pricing, a tight turning circle, and ease of manoeuvrability in urban environments. Although Mitsubishi has withdrawn from the UK market, the company continues to provide servicing, warranty support, and aftersales care, making the L200 a sensible used purchase for those seeking a practical and affordable pickup.
Best for: Buyers seeking a practical and affordable pickup truck, those who frequently navigate busy urban streets, and drivers prioritising fuel efficiency and standard equipment over outright power.
Not ideal for: Those requiring maximum payload or load bed dimensions, buyers wanting the most powerful engine option, or those seeking premium badge appeal.

The Verdict
You should buy the L200 if: You're seeking a practical and affordable pickup truck, frequently navigate busy urban streets, or prioritise fuel efficiency and standard equipment over outright power.
Consider alternatives if: You require maximum payload or load bed dimensions, want the most powerful engine option, or seek premium badge appeal.
Competitive Position: The Mitsubishi L200 (2020-2021) is a solid contender in the pickup market, offering keen pricing, excellent standard equipment on higher trims, and impressive fuel economy. Whilst it may not match rivals like the Ford Ranger for power or load bed size, its manoeuvrability, affordability, and comprehensive specification make it an attractive choice for practical buyers. The L200's continued aftersales support from Mitsubishi, despite the company's UK market exit, adds reassurance for used buyers seeking a dependable and economical workhorse.
