Renault’s fourth-generation Clio is a popular choice for buyers looking for a small five-door hatchback. It’s admittedly not as fun to drive as a Ford Fiesta, and some competitors are a bit more practical and better built, but it offers bold styling, good equipment levels and sensible running costs. It’s also often affordable, while versions such as the high-performance Clio Renaultsport widen its appeal further.
